What Would Love Do?
When it comes to how I see the world and how I respond to the world - my preference is to anchor myself in an aligned understanding of love.
Love.
Everybody is looking to love and be loved. And yet our search is often plagued by the things we were told.
I have come to believe that all forms of oppression represent an attempt to love oneself through the subjugation of others. They all advise a worth that relies on the perceived worthlessness of another. I have come to believe that complying with oppression is an adaptive strategy and a survival strategy. For we are all taught that love, and in fact safety and even worth, comes from receiving the validation of those who oppress us.
None of this is actually love - it’s codependence. But to break these cycles we must first understand them so we might ask; where is love trying to be?
We are taught to seek love in things that are external and outside of our control.
When the truth of love understands this and yet still chooses to set boundaries that are life aligned and love aligned.
Love is infinite and ever expanding and always with something to give. Love gives us infinite choices on how to respond and show up and move through the world.
So when it comes to how I see the world and how I respond to the world my preference to ask;
What would love do here?
