Earth Rising

Hierarchies of supremacy disconnect us from the land. We don’t actually need to dismantle those systems in order to begin reconnecting with the land. I have a friend and teacher who frequently says “the Earth knows who you are”.

Find in yourself the place that knows this to be true.

You can speak to the land. To the trees, to the sun, to the moon, to any star and all the stars at once. And you can listen and let them speak to you.

If it sounds outlandish and ridiculous - recognize that even this is a result of how we have been conditioned to be disconnected from it all. We are taught to view things that are very much a live as if they are not. To view the land as something static and unliving when the land lives and breathes. The Earth is literally holding us up every moment of every day. In order to be in right relationship with the Earth we need to first heal our relationship with ourselves. Because our relationship with the Earth is a reflection of our relationship with ourselves.

Find in yourself the place that knows this to be true.

Trust that as we heal and rise, the Earth heals and rises too.

Trust that as you rise, the Earth is supporting you.

As the people rise

the land will rise to meet them

Earth leaps to catch our feet

So that even when we are suspended

we are still held
